We recently had Chris Ryan Electrical’s truck in the shop for some custom modifications to optimise its storage. The unused space between the two rear toolboxes was going to waste, so we stepped in to make it more functional. We crafted a massive drawer measuring 1430mm long, 1260mm wide, and 200mm deep, providing ample storage without sacrificing existing space.

To fit the drawer, we carefully cut out a section of the back wall, then fabricated an infill cover to close in the remaining gap for a clean, streamlined look. Equipped with two sets of heavy-duty, 227kg drawer runners, this setup can handle substantial weight, making it perfect for tools and other heavy equipment. Plus, we designed it to allow the original shelves to be reinstalled, creating extra room for storing smaller items beneath the drawer.
